First Day of Spring

Welcome to the Vernal Equinox or the Spring Equinox, also known as the official First Day of Spring. No, that isn't tomorrow, it is today. Although in the past this has been celebrated on March 21st, due to the Earth's orbit, and our Gregorian calendar, the First Day of Spring is actually today, March 20th. But today is no longer the day when the amount of daylight equals the amount of night. There isn't actually twelve hours of day time and twelve hours of night time today, that honour actually fell on Saint Patrick's Day earlier on March 17th! Confused? Just trying to help.
