Lucky Day

A. Ryan Robbins of the Blog Frog and ycopfiles.com wishes you and yours the best of luck on this Lucky Day. Most Westerners believe the number seven is lucky. Therefore today, 7-7-7 should be very lucky indeed. Eastern Cultures often believe the colour red is associated with good fortune, and to North Americans, green means money, so to all my Loyal Readers best of luck and may good fortune smile down upon you!

Calgary Stampede

Today is the first full day of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, the Calgary Stampede. The Calgary Stampede is the world's largest outdoor annual rodeo and offers one of the largest purses on the professional rodeo circuit. We won't know who the best cowboy is until Sunday, July 15th, but in the meantime, yahoo!

Happy Independence Day

The United States of America officially separated from Great Britain on July 4, 1776 with the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Known as the Fourth of July, or Independence Day, it is a day of celebration for all American Loyal Readers. Typically celebrated with a parade in the morning, a barbeque in the afternoon, and fireworks at night, it is a day of joy for Americans everywhere.

Happy Canada Day

Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian Loyal Readers. While you are enjoying either a Tim Hortons large double double, or a frosty cold Molson Canadian, think of this. What could be more Canadian than its hockey team, one of the original six, the Toronto Maple Leafs?

Of course, as a professional writer, I cringe every time I have to write Maple Leafs because we all know the plural of leaf is not leafs but is leaves, right? What linguistically challenged author came up with this name? But I digress. Happy Canada Day Canada!

Birthday Month

Welcome to July, the birthday month for countries. July 1st is Canada Day, and July 4th is Independence Day. So whichever country you are from, I hope you have a warm sunny day and a nice barbeque with friends and family. And if some of my Loyal Readers aren't from either Canada or the United States, I wish you a hot sunny summer weekend all the same.
